16th century

Built by Abbot Philip de Lévis and modelled on the clocktower of Mirepoix Cathedral, the tower of the Abbey has remained unfinished since 1537. It is the most imposing monument on the site, visible from a great distance.

Objective and approximate cost:

- Provision of a temporary covering, to shelter the tower from bad weather (€150,000).
- Restoration of the collapsed vaults and intermediate floors (€250,000).
- Repair of the masonry at the top of the walls, replacement and improvement of the cut stones, consolidation of all the sculptures and repointing.
